Ugly Betty Weighs In

America Ferrera stars in the popular sitcom Ugly Betty which has created a lot of buzz in Hollywood since it aired last year. Ferrera also acted in the 2002 film Real Women Have Curves. What are her thoughts on diet and weight issues?

In Touch Weekly reports that in the past - Ferrera had "...tried almost every diet". She claims that the stress and long hours she puts in on Ugly Betty contribute to her maintaining her weight.

* Food: "You have to build a normal relationship with exercise and food,"
* Exercise: "I don't have much time to exercise, but when I do, I hike, run and do yoga.
* Body Image: "For me, it's not about looking like a supermodel - it's about feeling good about who I am naturally."

Along with the media’s attention on celebrity weight, the pressure to be thin in Hollywood seems to be making headlines everywhere. More women (and girls) should have Ferrara’s approach to body image.

Why pay attention to those so-called celebrity role models? Each person’s body type is different, so it may be impossible to ever look like Cameron Diaz. As long as you are healthy and happy with what you got, flaunt it!
